Patterson's: A Gig Harbor Farm Stand

There is a farm stand (Patterson's) not too far from the freeway....but far enough away to allow one to feel less harried and more as if one has truly escaped the city while shopping for fresh produce.  This rainy week-end managed not to  deter those who would have a day picking out the perfect fruit and vcggie.   There were kids galore - each one eagerly trying to decide which pumpkin they would take home with them,  Pumpkin Rescue at it's best.

Fresh Jona Gold and Apple Crisps are  stacked high on tables.  HMMMM. I like both but  the Apple Crisps  have a special sweetness ~ each bite some how  tastes vaguely of apple pie.

Purple kale line the straw strewn walk ways and the happy faces of Johnny Jump Ups  nod the mild breeze.  I almost did not go out today.  Thank goodness I didn't listen to that inner voice that wanted to take a nap.  Didn't bring the Rebel but the point and shoot did a serviceable job.

Autumn is a feast of color and freshness.  Worth the increasingly cold days and the endless rain of the Northwwest.
