Down town Fox Island

Okay.  I lied.  There is no down town Fox Island. But there is a small group of buildings near the center of the Island that provides some essential services. Post Office, a real estate office, a gas station/convenience store and a wonderful coffee stand.  Coffee in the Northwest is serious business!  Serious to the owners of the shops and serious to the customer.  Fox Island is lucky - the Island is home to a great coffee stand.  Recently the  stand has been surrounded by new landscaping: plants, flowers, fountains, pathways -  even a new artistic sheltered bus stand for the school kids.  It is amazing.  So pretty that it makes being friendly when ordering that first cup of say...a viente skinny vanilla latte while still completely decaffeinate just a bit easier.  Better for the barista and better for the customer.

Ah, the day begins here for soooo many!

Public fishing pier and beach on Fox Island

I wonder what these children will about this peaceful summer evening.  The public pier and beach is located at the far southern tip of the the island.
